We're looking for interesting and brilliant talks for re:develop in Bournemouth on 20th September.

Get Involved!

re:develop is for everyone, but specifically aimed at coders and those working with development teams. The conference is about expanding horizons, challenging approaches and learning through shared experiences, rather than a focus on specific development disciplines.

If you’ve got a great story or a desire to share something you’ve learned then we want to hear from you, even if you’re not a speaking regular - we’d encourage everyone to submit something they’re passionate about. We want to hear from you whether you’re local or from further afield, no matter your background. If you're stuck for inspiration in the past we've had great talks about accessibility, rapidly scaling software performance, interpersonal challenges and keeping a handle on software deployments.

The submissions are blind judged by a panel, only taking into account the title and abstract of each submission. We’re looking for topics that will teach, or inspire and appeal to a wide audience. Undoubtedly, a theme will emerge out of our submissions and it’s likely that this will play a part in the judging panel’s decisions.

Submitted a talk? Thanks so much for your submission. We're now in the process of evaluating every submission and you'll hear from us very shortly.

Submissions are closed as of 7th June 2019

Notes

We absolutely want to hear your experiences making, breaking, and coding, but please no sales pitches.

Talks should aim to be 40 minutes long. As we construct the schedule for the day there may be room for slightly longer talks.

Goes without saying that you’ll need to be available on Friday 20th September 2019 (and possibly the day before if you need to travel to Bournemouth).

What you'll get

Re:develop isn’t a for-profit venture, so we don’t offer speaker fees. However, if you’re selected we’ll work hard to make sure you really enjoy your time at re:develop, including giving you:

  • A free ticket to the conference
  • Speakers dinner the night before the conference
  • £200 towards travel expenses and accommodation
